Why is my ice cracking?
To avoid cracking, place your ice cube outside the freezer at least 1 minute before pouring liquid over the cube. This allows the ice to temper (inside and outside reach the same temperature) and not crack due to thermal shock.
How long will my ice last in the freezer?
With proper storage, indefinitely. Frequently opening/closing the freezer may cause the ice to melt slightly and even stick together. If this happens, place a butter knife or ice pick at the edge to separate the cubes. Slight pressure will be enough as metal is highly conductive of ambient temperature.
